A washer that will not start, stops mid-cycle, displays errors, or behaves unpredictably does not automatically have a failed control board. Door or lid locks, pumps, motors, sensors, wiring, power supply, and user-interface components can create similar symptoms.
Symptoms that may involve the control system
- No response even though correct power reaches the washer
- Repeated communication or control-related error codes
- Outputs activating at the wrong time
- Visible burned areas, corrosion, or damaged connectors
- A known-good input or component not being controlled correctly
Why a simple continuity test is not enough
Electronic boards contain many circuits and cannot usually be declared good or bad by checking continuity across random terminals. Diagnosis should follow the appliance’s technical sheet, error-code procedure, voltage checks, and connector inspection.
Electrical safety: Live-voltage testing is hazardous. Disconnect power before opening panels, and use a qualified technician for energized diagnosis.
